So anyone who knows this name and knows me may recognize it and thus know that I am (kinda) back! Once I gotten some time to actually begin looking when IRL wasn't trying to hammer me to oblivion, it took what felt like forever to finally track this game down! (My fault for not asking beforehand what the new game was going to be called. ^_^;) I can't gurantee I'll be back immediately, but my char is still on ice and ready for a thawin' once I feel like I can actually get back in the groove of sorts. (and understand what exactly will happen once she is dethawed)

Hello everyone! I'm creating this as something of an "@help" repository, to contain all the instructions on how to use and interact with the myriad amazing (but sometimes mystifying) systems in the game.

If you have anything you want to add, or think needs added, to this list, please reach out to me via DM, Discord, @chat in-game, or just post it in this thread!

GENERAL

You can use @craft to open a very comprehensive list of "things you can craft". It's rather self-explanatory, although bear in mind some of the items in the "Command" line have a gerund "-ing" that you'll want to turn into the standard "parser command" format. (IE: "altering" means you use the "alter" command.)

The basic format is " my into ".

A lot of these "recipes" require crafting tools or one type or another, generally associated with the entire career's items. Entering the parser command in the proper format will give a return that will tell you what tools are required, though sometimes this feedback can be confusing to interpret (thus this guide).

If the above basic format isn't working, even when you have the tool in hand, try doing the command WITH the tool: " my into with "

COOKING

TOOLS: (frying) pan, (stock) pot, mixing bowl, fire (any source, not private rooms)

Most foods will accept a variety of different ingredients, seasonings, and spreads. There's a lot of variations, experimentation is key, and I will not make a comprehensive list because 1) it would take too long and 2) it would ruin a lot of the run of being a Cook player.

The basic command to remember, however, is "add", which is not listed in the @craft. For example:

> add my butter to my biscuit

You add your dollop of butter to your garlic biscuit.

Additionally, when doing the actual cooking, you will need a fire source (such as a fire pit), and you will need to specifically cook WITH the fire.

GARDENING

Most of this is fairly self-explanatory, however there are two tips that will save your time AND your sanity:

If you obtain a watering can and a pair of hedge shears, you can use these items to automatically water and prune every single plant in the room you are currently in (including all plants inside urns/planters).

You do this with "tilt my can" and "snap my shears".

HEALING

TOOLS: (any material) bandages, stitching needle, surgical thread, jar of maggots

A lot of the "extra medicines" type stuff I will leave to people to figure out in-game through experimentation. This guide is purely on "how to heal using the system".

The "Diagnose" command is your friend. Learn to love the "Diagnose" command. You will be typing it A LOT.

When you "diagnose ", you will get a read-out of their current state of health, injuries, etc. You will then have to diagnose each individual injury to learn about the wound. (NOTE: You will have to target the specific body part ("diagnose 's "), and cannot use "first wound/injury", "second wound/injury", etc.).

There are four conditions for a wound to be in: bleeding, dirty, infected, clean, and bandaged.

How to address each:

Dirty - "clean 's "

Bleeding - "stitch 's with my needle and my thread" (Note: You have to use a stitching needle, designed for healing/surgery, and cannot use a sewing needle, designed for seamstressing/tailoring.)

Infected - "apply my maggots to 's " (Note: You will need to act quickly after application to bandage the wound, or the wriggly maggots will fall off the wound and you'll have to re-apply.)

Clean - "bandage 's with my bandage"

Bandaged is the final step in the process, you're basically done, and if you did everything correctly, your patient won't die.

At this point, you just have to wait until DIAGNOSE shows that the wound(s) is/are healed and ready to be unbandaged. - "unbandage 's "

After every step, you may want to re-diagnose the wound to verify you did things correctly and the wound-state has changed.

You will have some basic items to craft using other systems, most importantly bandages which are crafted using Tailoring. For instructions regarding how to craft bandages, see that section of this Guide.

Additional careers/skills will be added as I have time, or as people bring the need/information to my attention.

After nearly four months of Hospital stays, I'm back home.

Covid, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and a Spinal Cyst that has me confined to a wheelchair for mobility--and a urinary catheter with a mind of its own--I have returned.

Should be on latter in the day, but I have a whole load of therapy to go through.

Sorry to even be writing this, but I feel like I must before I end up forgetting. Due to personal reason's (NOT GAME!) I have decided to quit Allegory of Empires. It has been fun and I have enjoyed the game on most RP situations. I will keep my account, in case I ever decide to return, but will delete all characters to start fresh. Most know that I will be attending school again (nursing) and have been given a second chance at doing this, because I failed the first semester this Spring. So I need a fresh restart and in order to keep my attention on what it needs to be on (school, family, life) I have to put this game to an end. Another thing is, I been playing this game for years and even though I have loved it, it is time for me to call it quits because it does take time and effort that I no longer have in order to stay. Thank you all, players and staffers, for making this game possible and making it enjoyable.

Just letting you AoE players know that if you don't see Darlene or any of my various alts (if you know who they are or have a general idea, can't reveal due to the rules) that I will be starting school May 25th. Recently I tried nursing school and failed. I failed due to personal reason, but now I got things under control and hope this time I succeed. I was lucky enough to get accepted again. Which, will bring me to starting it all over again on the 25th of this month. Some (or all) may know that Summer courses are hard due to the shortened time frame. So I may or may not be able to log on from May 28th to Aug 5th. I will try my best to bring Darlene and my others out during this time frame, but if I am unable to, I apologize.

On a second note, I will get a short break before I continue in August (If I pass the first semester this time) again. So during that break, I will be back.

Finally, until I start back... I am still here, unless the weather (*blames Hughesnet* <_< I do plan on getting a different provider soon) or family issues come back up.
