Update: Crafting

A timer has been added to crafting, i.e. crafting will no longer be instantaneous. If you craft inside of one of the appropriate workshops (ex: blacksmiths in the smithy), your crafting actions will not be subject to the timer. Crafting anywhere else will have the timer applied to it.

Update: Courier Location

The courier has been moved to the post office on Strada Lavorante. From the fountain in Piazza Vecchia, go southeast twice. The building is the small one to the west from there.

Update: Babies & Toddlers

The human version of the babies and toddlers has been modified to resolve targeting issues. You will no longer run into this for everything:

close my eyes
You must choose one of your gimlet hazel eyes or a small pudgy baby's beady black eyes.

You will have to target the baby and toddler body parts by targeting the baby/toddler first (ex: smile into my baby's eyes). Otherwise, the system will default on your own body parts.

New(ish) Feature: Display Windows

Two display windows have been added to each of the workshops and the auction house. They function the same way as the trading tables, and their contents are visible from both inside and outside the location. One in each location should be tied to guilds, and the other should work for general use.

The @event list options have been pared down and generalized. All events should work anywhere in the game world. Some events are limited to certain classes or VP guild membership.

Update: Anasette Apartments

I went through the Anasette building to update it to our current building format. Your personal possessions will not be affected by this change, but you'll notice new mini maps that may not be consistent with the furniture that came with the room. You may also notice that some of the built-in furniture (fireplaces and certain beds) has disappeared as a result of the update. While I was working on the rooms, I noticed a bug wherein the furniture that should have been there wasn't populating, so some of you may have empty rooms (I don't know when this bug started). The bug has been fixed, but none of the changes to the furniture are retroactive. If you want to update your room to the new furniture, you will have to return the room and re-rent it. If you do not have a key, there is a concierge on the first floor. Get the appropriate key for your room and offer it back to him. That will trigger the prompts to return the room. Make sure that you take all of your possessions out of the room before you return it or they will be lost. Staff typically can't recover these items.

New Location: Coquelin Cosmetics

There's a new cosmetics shop off of Piazza di Gioco.

To see a list of available colors for each product:

ask npc for [product]

ask npc for lip balm

To purchase a specific color:

ask npc for [color] [product]

ask npc for pink rouge

Notes: All products sold here have ten uses. The command to use them is apply. The nail polish is a base and will require the addition of dye to have a color.

New Locations: La Sastreria Torres & Potter & Hobbes Shoppe

The seamstress shops for Spanish and English clothing (both require loyalty) are open on Via Governo and Via Oscuro respectively. The garment selection is limited as of right now, but I will continue to add more as time permits.

Favor, Events, and Promotions

I have re-enabled the weekly script that pays out the influence points given via @favor/@disfavor commands. I did a manual run today which paid out last week's points which means you will still be able to favor people this week and it will count towards the next cycle (favor is processed every Sunday morning between 12am-1am).

I have also re-enabled the distribution of event favor points.

Finally, you will find that changes to promotion requirements have changed slightly with an added criteria based on account type.

  • Free accounts can accept promotions up to level 6 (Thane).
  • Basic accounts can accept promotions up to level 11 (Baronet).
  • Premium accounts have no restrictions.

You will not lose your rank if your account status changes.

Knitting has been added to the weaver class. You will need a pair of knitting needles, which can be acquired from the weaving shop (basic materials only) or from a carpenter (if you're feeling fancy), and some yarn. Weavers can make knitted fabric as well as knitted items. More items will be added as time permits.

New Location: La Parfumerie

There's a new perfume shop on Via Ovest near the French estate. It sells both perfumes and colognes, all of which are in the display cases for you to smell before you purchase them. The perfumes and colognes have 20 uses per bottle, and the commands to use them are dabapply, and massage. The scent is temporary, but should last for a couple days. Please note that fragrances are considered luxury items, which is reflected in the pricing.

Update: Grand Salon

The gendered lounges in the grand salon have been combined into one two-room lounge. Unescorted access to the northern half is restricted by rank, but anyone can enter if accompanied by someone of sufficient rank.

New @commands

@victim

This command will allow you to flag your character as a potential victim during plots. By enabling victim status, you consent to acts such as being attacked, poisoned, kidnapped, bad luck, etc. It DOES NOT consent you to death nor does it guarantee that something  will happen to you during every plot. It is simply a means for us to identify willing victims without giving anything away.

 

@integrate/@unintegrate

The @integrate command will allow you to integrate objects in your personal room (syntax: @integrate fireplace). By integrating an object (such a piece of furniture), it will disappear from the room inventory list when looking and examining, but will still be there for you to interact with. It will also fix the object in place so it cannot be moved. This should help with room clutter. If you want your objects to appear in the room description, there are storypoint options for room overhauls.

@unintegrate will make the object visible again (syntax: @unintegrate fireplace). Typing @integrate by itself will show a list of integrated objects.

You can only use these commands in rooms that you own, or rooms that your guild owns. Even if you share your key with someone, they cannot go into your room and use these commands.

 
@voice
 
For 30 storypoints, you can purchase different voice mods for your character (ie. "deep baritone voice", "bored, monotone voice") and you can toggle between these using the @voice command. Shout out to Genvieve for the idea!
